£1,000,000 Required to Renovate Retreat

No noise. No stress. The Perfect Retreat?

Let's keep it that way with a final fundraising push

As you wind your way through drifting English countryside, down peaceful lanes, you find your soul begin to awaken. Your mobile signal disappears almost like a sign that tranquillity lies beyond. Ancient, majestic trees guide you off the lanes to a field track leading to the Abbey.

A spiritual silence surrounds Launde Abbey, a twelfth century retreat where modern life flows away leaving you wide open to experience pure, inspiring enlightenment, and a silence that seems to lift your entire being from the moment you arrive.

With your help we can keep this beautiful retreat open for future generations to enjoy. The magnificent sum achieved so far has signalled the start of the work required, but the full amount is needed to complete the project to ensure the long term viability of the retreat.

Bishop Woodford House, Diocese of Ely

Contrary to a message on the previous version of our FAQs page, we would like to confirm that the Diocese of Ely have not recently made a decision to close Bishop Woodford House and can confirm it is not only open for business, but has a full future programme and is financially sustainable without diocesan grants from the Ely Diocese.

The Save Launde Abbey appeal sincerely apologises for any misunderstanding and confusion caused by the information previously published.
